Mastering Payload CMS 3

Payload is a headless CMS that runs inside your own Next.js application rather than as a service you rent. That means the admin panel, the database schema and the front end are one codebase you control, with no per-seat pricing and no API you have to work around. This course builds an application from an empty project. You will define collections and globals, add authentication and access control, shape the admin panel around how the client actually works, and connect it all to a Next.js front end with dynamic routing, rich text and search. It suits anyone who already writes JavaScript and wants to stop rebuilding a content model for every project. By the end you will have taken a Payload application from first collection to deployed, and understand where it fits against WordPress and the hosted alternatives.

What you will learn

  • Define collections and globals as your content model
  • Add user authentication, roles and access control
  • Customise the admin panel around the people using it
  • Connect a Next.js front end that reads from Payload
  • Deploy and host a Payload application
